A UNIVERSITY student is taking part in a national project to create a new kind of war memorial. Rosie Maynard, a former Launceston College student, is a member of the moderating team of the 'Letter to an Unknown Soldier' project, and is encouraging people to become involved. 'Letter to an Unknown Soldier' is inspired by a statue that stands on platform 1 of Paddington Station in London, representing the millions of soldiers who died in the first world war. The statue is of an ordinary soldier in battledress, reading a letter. For the full report, and a round up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
