LAUNCESTON organisations have one last chance to claim up to £1,000 in community funding before the Tuesday, February 4 deadline.
Local groups wanting to apply for grants from Cornwall Council's community chest scheme are being urged to get in touch with their local councillors as soon as possible to avoid missing out as the funds cannot be rolled over to the next financial year.
Cllr Adam Paynter, councillor for Launceston North and North Petherwin, said: "The community chest scheme is there to help local groups and organisations get money for new projects or equipment.
"It's a long standing scheme which has helped many local groups in the past.
"Schemes such as the Love Launceston Loyalty Card, Launceston Foodbank and the Money Advice Centre have all benefited from funding.
"It is also useful for smaller organisations, with groups such as art clubs, scouts and a local boxing club receiving money."
