THE planned Davidstow Wind Farm public inquiry will no longer take place — after Community Windpower withdrew its appeal. However, it may be too soon for opposition groups to rejoice, as the developer does plan to submit a new application — soon.
In a letter from Marcus Trinick, Partner for Eversheds, the applicant's lawyers, to The Planning Inspectorate, the reason was given for the withdrawal of the appeal.
He said: "This decision has become necessary because of an issue relating to the availability of a member of the Appellants inquiry team. That issue has already impacted on inquiry preparation and it is not now feasible to complete and vital work before the date for submission of evidence.
"Again, it is now too late to seek the postponement of this inquiry. This leaves one option. Community Windpower will be re-submitting a planning application for Davidstow Wind Farm very soon. We apologise for the inconvenience undoubtedly cased by this decision."
