A DAVIDSTOW man has been banned from the road for 18 months after pleading guilty before Bodmin Magistrates to driving with excess alcohol.

Mr Benjamin Thomas Lane, aged 24, of West Park, Davidstow, admitted driving a van on an unclassified road at Bossiney on September 13 with 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 mls of breath, the legal limit being 35.

Mr Lane was fined £200, with £85 Crown Prosecution Service costs, and £15 victim surcharge.

The 18-month ban will be reduced by 18 weeks if he satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State by September 26, 2010.
