A PUBLIC inquiry has been announced following the appeal of a proposal to build a Tesco store/petrol filling station and Help For Heroes veteran bungalows in Bude.

Cornwall Council turned down plans for the development at the Binhamy site, last October. Since then, property developer Catesby has submitted an appeal to reverse the decision.

The application was refused because of its impact on the 'vitality and viability' of Bude town centre.
