The junction between Bodmin Street and Parsons Close, which anecdotally has been the cause of some near misses, is to be redesigned and traffic priorities restored to the way they were before the housing development began some four years ago.

There have been delays because the road through the housing development has not yet been adopted, allegedly because of drainage problems, but work should start in two or three months.

Speaking at a Highways Surgery in the town clerk's offices, Devon County Council Highway Engineer, Bruce Pedrick said his department would be working with the developer to make the junction safer. Work at the junction would include construction of pavements, which for a long time had remained in a rough state.
