BUDE came up against a St Blazey side which boasted six first team players, but this didn't deter a Bude side who put out their most experienced side of the season.
An even first half saw Bude edge it, taking the lead after 20 minutes, Dan Balsdon struck a left foot 35 yard thunderbolt into the top right hand corner with Balsdon modestly commenting "that is the best goal I have ever seen, anywhere !"
St Blazey soon came close to equalising, taking a quick free kick just outside the Bude box, caught the visiting defence on the hop and 'keeper Gary Dinshaw was called upon to brilliantly tip a shot over the crossbar.
Bude doubled their lead after 60 minutes, James Giodarni played in Billy Hopcroft who was brought down by home 'keeper Kye Stone. Hopcroft stepped up to score from the spot. Blazey were immediately reduced to ten men as Sam Walters was red carded for dissent.
Bude were still made to work hard with the back three of Dan Starkey and brothers Wayne And Gavin Cornish staying solid.
As the game went on though Blazey were becoming more and more stretched, in the 80th minute Hopcroft was put in on goal again, the 'keeper reacted well to meet a 50/50 ball just outside the box, the ball went loose to Gary Hodgson who shot goalwards only to see the 'keeper save his shot ten yards outside his area. The referee must have felt sorry for him as he was only shown a yellow card.
Bude wrapped the game up in the final minute as wing back Herbie Goodgroves took the ball in the box and 'keeper Stone for the second time brought a Bude player down. Hopcroft again tucked the penalty away for an important 3 league points.
