CHILDREN’S Hospice South West (CHSW) has received a fantastic boost, thanks to the fundraising efforts from the team at Dairy Crest Davidstow.

The annual golf day took place in July at Bowood Golf Club, Lanteglos and 20 teams played, raising £16,560.10 for the charity.

Following on from the golf there were various fundraising activities with which everyone became involved and contributed to. There was a balloon auction, Irish bingo and a charity auction conducted by James Morrish of Kivells. There were 30 fantastic lots up for grabs donated by suppliers and local businesses, including a television, Liverpool FC Anfield Tour, rounds of golf and various hampers.

In the last four years, Dairy Crest Davidstow has raised more than £56,000 for CHSW.

Jackie Yates from Dairy Crest said: “We are delighted with the success of the golf day and the fantastic amount of money raised for Children’s Hospice South West.

“Thank you to all the teams that played on the day and everyone who was involved.”

Sarah Stott, corporate partnerships fundraiser for CHSW, said: “On behalf of all of the children and families that we support I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the Dairy Crest golf day. What an incredible amount raised, we are absolutely delighted.

“Please know that your donation will make a huge difference to the support we can offer to local families with life limited children.”

CHSW runs three children’s hospices in the south west including Little Harbour in St Austell. Little Harbour costs over £2-million a year to run in order for the charity to be able to support children with life limiting or life-threatening illnesses. It is a home from home environment where families can have short respite stays, palliative care and end of life care, but relies on donations to keep running.
