MEMBERS of Lewannick Knit and Knatter group have been busy knitting daffodils to help raise money for Marie Curie and church funds.

‘The Great Lewannick Daffodil Knit’ runs until Sunday, April 3 at St Martins Church. Flowers will be sold at the end of the event for £1 to order — details can be left on card at the church.

Knitted brooches will be available for £1 during the event. Money raised will be split between Marie Curie and the church.

Any flowers not sold, will be gifted to the local residential and nursing homes.

The group had a busy lead-up to Christmas, knitting decorations for the Christmas tree festival. The idea was mooted for the knitters to create some daffodils and now, this is the brilliant result!

The Rev Anne Brown said the display has been very popular with locals popping into the church.

“People are coming out just to have a look. It looks fantastic, they’ve done a wonderful job.”
