A LAUNCESTON man is set to cycle 100 miles in aid of a charity close to his heart as he prepares for the August 10 RideLondon event. Keen racer Mike Carpenter, 62, has run nine London marathon's and several hundred other races and hopes to raise funds for disability charity United Response. The charity supports people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and physical disabilities across England and Wales. Mike is semi-retired but remains very active, working within United Response's Outreach team for the past three years to support two men and their families and will undertake the cycling challenge despite an injury last summer.
