HE pupils from St Petroc’s School in Bude thoroughly enjoyed their annual Autumn Festival before breaking up for half term.

The Friends of St Petroc’s, a hard working group of parents who put on events at the school, did an amazing job of decorating the hall with a Hallowe’en theme.

Children from the St Petroc’s early years and prep school took part in dressing up and lantern making competitions, both of which were great fun. There were stalls for all to enjoy, including face painting and biscuit decorating, as well as a bar for the parents.

Headmaster, Dan Thornburn, said: “It was a really special evening and everyone who came thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was great to hear Energia again, a local samba band, and I know that the children loved the event.

“I was not quite so keen on the popularity of the ‘custard pie the headmaster’ stall, but still!”

This fantastic event was followed by a brilliant ‘spooky lunch’ on October 31, when children had returned from their half term break. On the special menu were zombies in coffins, severed fingers, brains and giant cobweb brownie — disgustingly delicious!
