THE Little Blacks could have shown the first team a thing or two, playing a much older Tavistock team, Launceston held their own.

In the first of two games, which were very physical to be fair, the player who stood out from the crowd was Ben Webb. He had a fantastic match; he was all over Tavistock with his tagging and mostly was the first little Black off the mark. His hard work, support play and his try earned him Parents Player of the match.

The little Blacks were denied each time they travelled up the pitch, brought down by Tavistock. Ross Jarvis would surely have scored if he was not brought down and had to go off injured.

The little Blacks put on a fine display of defence and really worked hard to keep Tavistock at bay. Corey Sillifant and Mark Horrell working well together to keep the scoreline down.

Frances made it through to score our second, with more hard work from Corey and Mark.

Tavistock evened it up again and were off, with some ace running, the little Blacks in hot pursuit Daniel Puffett pulling off a tag. The little Blacks had a rally of passes from Frances to Corey to Mark and fine support work from Ben Webb to score again.

Mark Horrell set up another try for Frances Fox, The little Blacks keeping possession with a flurry of tags from Tavistock.

Tavistock scored some excellent tries, running the length of the pitch with The Little Blacks chasing them, and some hard chasing there was.

Launceston try scorers: Ben Webb 2 and Frances Fox 2.
