SATURDAY evening saw a well attended crowning concert led by the Camelford Town Band under the batton of their newly appointed musical director Gareth Stubberfield.

The evening started with the crowning of this year’s chosen royalty Robyn Hatch, along with her attendants Charlee and Louise Sanders, who was crowned by Camelford duo Stephanie Jasper and Di Pengelly. They said it was an honour to be asked to perform the crowning.

The Camelford Town Band got into the swing of the evening playing some ever popular tunes, including Calling Cornwall, Mamma Mia, Swinging Safari, La Bamba and finished off the evening with a grand march entitled ‘The Cornish Cavalier’.

Marney Baker, carnival secretary, said she was delighted with the turnout for the concert as it has always been held on a Friday and was keeping her fingers crossed for some good weather for the carnival procession this coming Saturday, October 27 starting at 7pm.
