THEsun shone at St Lawrence House on Saturday, July 31 with a record number of people in attendance of the Lezant Church Fete.
Mrs Mary Crew performed the opening ceremony and praised all the many people who had been involved in setting everything up and contributing in so many ways.
All the stalls did a roaring trade with bargains flying off the trash or treasure stand and an excellent selection of plants, garden produce and home made cakes.
The tea tent was kept busy for the whole afternoon with a wonderful array of sandwiches, cakes and delicious cream teas to tempt hungry visitors.
The children had a great time trying out all the games, the most popular of which was throwing a wet sponge at the jester or as he is formally known, Trekenner Primary School Headteacher, Mr David Reardon!
Visitors were able to try their hand at long bow archery, which proved very popular, with one young archer shooting a gold.
A native American Sioux tipi and a colourful desert tent just added to the atmosphere and a great time was had by all. £1,271 was raised towards church funds another record on a really successful afternoon.
