HUNDREDS of scones, gallons of clotted cream and lashings of strawberry jam were devoured by happy holidaymakers and enthusiastic locals in Bude on Bank Holiday Sunday, thanks to friends Angie Pearce, Christine Thomas and Norah Bosworth.

The ladies baked scones in advance which were served at Summerleaze Crescent with the proceeds going to Friends of Bude Sea Pool (FoBSP), the local charity which funds and manages Bude's historic swimming pool.

The cream teas raised around £570, a significant contribution towards the pool's ongoing renovation.
