A LAWYER from Holsworthy has been rated for her expertise and high quality service to farming clients by the UK’s two leading legal directories.

Pam Johns, of Coodes Solicitors, is recommended as a leading expert in agricultural law in the new editions of the ‘Legal 500’ and ‘Chambers & Partners’, both of which rank the UK’s best law firms. The two publications are based on rigorous independent research, along with feedback from clients and other legal professionals.

A partner in Coodes’ rural services team, Pam founded the firm’s Holsworthy office, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. A Fellow of the Agricultural Law Society, she was born and bred in the town.

The 2019 edition of Chambers & Partners, an independent guide to the UK’s best law firms, highlights Pam’s expertise in agriculture and rural affairs, stating that she ‘understands agriculture in detail and is very experienced’.

The guide describes Coodes as ‘notable for advising South Western farmers and other landowners over several generations’. It explains that the firm advises on ‘a wide range of agricultural matters, including property transactions, tenancies and farming partnerships’. A client is quoted as saying: “They’re very approachable and they talk the local farmers’ language. They’re good at communicating with their clients.”

It also recommends Coodes clinical negligence specialist and partner Tim Goldburn.

The new edition of the Legal 500 UK recommends Pam, saying she is ‘highly efficient and has an excellent reputation’. As well as highlighting Coodes’ expertise in agriculture and estates, the legal directory also recommends the firm for those seeking compensation for clinical negligence or a personal injury, as well as handling contentious trusts and probate cases.

Pam said: “I am really pleased that Coodes has been recommended in these two directories for our agricultural expertise. Since we set up our Holsworthy office 20 years ago, we have been proud to serve the local farming community. As well as meeting clients on their farms and in our own office, we are at Holsworthy Livestock Market every Wednesday.

“Living and working in Holsworthy and the surrounding area, we focus on understanding the needs and challenges of our farming clients.”

Coodes chairman Peter Lamble said: “We are delighted to see Pam Johns featured in these two prestigious legal guides. She brings many years of experience to the firm and is rightly recognised as being a leading expert in her field.

“As we continue to grow our teams across Cornwall and Devon, it is important to us to retain the highest level of service to all our clients. Being featured in independent national guides, such as Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500, gives our clients reassurance that Coodes has the expertise to provide truly first-class advice.”
