MYSTERY surrounds the discovery of a couple found dead in a house in Chepstow last Friday, which police are describing as 'unexplained'.

Stacey Henderson, aged 35, and her husband Nigel Henderson were found dead together after police were called to the house in Ruffets Close on Friday lunchtime.

Mr Henderson, 52, from Bristol, is reported to have been suffering from a 'chronic illness' and was well known in the town having been the landlord of the former Jimmy Dean's pub.

Mrs Henderson was a barmaid at The Huntsman's Hotel in Shirenewton.

A Gwent Police spokesman said: "Gwent Police were called to an address on Ruffets Close, Chepstow at 11.52am on Friday June 19, where a 52-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were located deceased.

"Nigel will be sorely missed by his children, his sister, two brothers and all his friends in Chepstow and his home town of Bristol."

The family of Mrs Henderson issued a statement which read: "Taken from this life too early, our wonderful and much loved daughter.

"It is beyond belief and she will be forever in our hearts."

A friend from their time at Wyedean School, Nicki Lewis, added: "I was shocked to hear of her death. She was a lovely, friendly girl. I wish to send heartfelt condolences to her family."
