IT was a double celebration on March 29 as Holsworthy Golf Club welcomed back its first players after lockdown, who happened to be celebrating their 41st wedding anniversary that same day.

Peter and Helen Coulson were unable to celebrate their Ruby anniversary last year and wanted to find something special to do this year now that restrictions are being slowly lifted. They are both keen golfers and could think of no better way to celebrate this anniversary than with a round at their favourite course.

Peter said: “We went out just after 7am and were the first on the course.

“It was our 41st wedding anniversary. We couldn’t celebrate our Ruby last year you see, because of the pandemic, so decided to do something special for our 41st.

“We do both enjoy golf, I play three times a week and my wife plays twice a week. The course is just lovely and it was so nice to be out.”
