A DEVON County Councillor is urging town councillors to 'keep their ears to the ground' for further cuts to services ahead of the budget-setting next month.
Conservative county councillor for Holsworthy Barry Parsons last week told town councillors to 'watch this space'.
Cllr Parsons told them: "There are no sacred cows as John [Devon County Council leader] puts it. Everything and anything is up for grabs, so watch this space.
"We do have to cut funding on top of what we have already had to find and it's going to be around 40% more. So keep your ears to the ground over the next few weeks before the budget meeting at Devon County Council."
Leader of the Conservative county council John Hart caused concern in the town at a 'Tough Choices' budget meeting in December when he spoke of possible cuts to bus services. The county council has since confirmed plans to save £1.7-million by capping bus subsidies. The cuts are a result of the £50-million budget reduction required by the Government.
