A GOOD summer season for Launceston Tennis Club culminated in the county cup finals and club singles finals last Sunday.

For the first time since its inauguration in 1938, the name of Launceston is on the Holman Cup Open — a county competition for one male doubles pairing. In a close final against St Agnes Kevin and Graham Worth were victorious 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

The ladies were also represented in open final of the Morton Nance Cup. Sarah Statton and Shannon Sandy, playing in the place of injured sister Charlotte, had a close match with Truro 'A', but were defeated 4-6, 3-6.
