PREPARATIONS are in full swing for Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Santas on the Run in Launceston on Sunday, December 11.

More than 100 Santas will be taking over the town at the weekend as they take part in the 2km fun run to help raise funds for Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell, which supports children with life limiting and life threatening illnesses and their families.

Santas can run, jog or walk the 2km and all the children that take part also get to visit Santa’s grotto for free.

Little Harbour supports children and families from all across Cornwall and Plymouth and is open every day of the year, it will even be open for short breaks for families over the Christmas and new year period.

Families visit the hospice for short breaks, palliative care, end of life care and bereavement support.

Little Harbour is filled with fun and happiness and is a home from home for many local families who visit and are given the opportunity to make precious memories together while receiving expert care and support.

Everyone taking part in the event is encouraged to raise as much sponsorship as possible for Little Harbour and it will be a great alternative to a Christmas party with colleagues or a fantastic festive get together with family or friends.

The run starts at 11am and all ages can take part and children in buggies can come along too. Registration costs £15 for adults, £7.50 for children, under 2s go for free, there is also a family rate of £37.50 for two adults and two children.

Registration includes a special commemorative CHSW 25th anniversary medal, festive treat and visit to Santa’s grotto for the little ones to receive a present, while mums and dads can enjoy refreshments in the town hall.
