Cllr Pearce has met with officials from the highways department at Cornwall Council to discuss whether the routes that make up the town cycling paths could be joined up.
Cllr Pearce said: “There are 30 different areas and we want it to make it safer to cycle to school.
“There are a lot of cycle paths but they end and we’d like to join them up and make a dedicated cycle route.
“However, we’re in the early stages of discussing it. It’s a question of cars going faster and faster or making it safer to cycle and walk.”
Cllr Pearce would like to see the routes between the beaches joined up.
Cllr Pearce said: “It’s about how do we link up the Crescent Car Park and Summerleaze Beach and make it safe. It makes it easier to get on a bike without being killed.”
