Liberal Democrat Cornwall councillors, Faye Emery and Nicky Chopak, and independent councillor Peter La Broy have teamed up with MP for North Cornwall, Ben Maguire to raise their concerns surrounding ongoing issues at the Shorelands Estate in Bude.
The group are calling on Vistry to urgently commit to a clear plan to complete infrastructure works. The estate has seen years of disruption, alongside unfinished roads, drainage and other essential services.
Commenting, Cllr Emery said: "Residents have experienced years of roadworks and other disruption to their lives, and just feel completely ignored by Vistry.
"Cllr Nicky Chopak and I are working with Peter La Broy to resolve this urgently, and we're calling on Vistry to commit to a clear plan for completing the work on site as quickly as possible."
North Cornwall's MP, Mr Maguire, added: "Vital infrastructure like roads, sewage works should always be put in place before any developer can start selling houses - or else residents are left with a mess like this.
“I'll now continue working with our local Cornwall councillors to collectively hold Vistry to account, so that we finally see the action and standards my residents deserve."
A Vistry spokesperson responded: "Our contractor has been undertaking an extensive programme of remedial works at Shorelands Estate to prepare the roads and sewers for adoption. The project has now reached the stage of pre‑maintenance CCTV inspections of the sewers, and subject to confirmation from South West Water that these are defect‑free, final road surfacing will follow.
“We recognise the disruption this process has caused and have advised residents that the programme remains on track for completion of the road surfacing in late summer 2026.”
