CORNWALL Councillor Nathan Bale met with Joan Bradshaw from Flexbury recently to receive his copy of 'All Quiet on the Western Front'.

Joan won 48 copies of the book as part of World Book Night, and is giving them away in an attempt to promote peace.

Joan said: "I had to write to World Book Night and explain which book I would like to give out and why. I chose 'All Quiet on the Western Front' because it shows that everyone involved in war is a person."
