WOBURN Residents' Association (WRA) is encouraging other community groups to apply to their Cornwall councillor for funding after receiving a grant for a bench on the village green. WRA unveiled the memorial bench on Woburn Green at its summer fete, paid for by their own fundraising and a £400 Community Chest grant from Jade Farrington, Liberal Democrat Cornwall Councillor for Launceston South. WRA treasurer Lorraine Beale said: "Applying for a grant from the Community Chest was very easy. Jade directed me to Rosemary Stone who then forwarded a form which was clear and concise and no problem to complete. The whole process between application and receiving the grant took very little time." For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
