COUNCILLOR Jess Williams has been elected as the Launceston Town Council Environment community champion.
Fellow town councillors elected Cllr Williams to the post at the latest meeting on February 19.
Cllr Williams will use the council’s Environmental Policy as a basis to create an Environmental Policy Action plan for the town council, the first draft of which will be presented to full council in March. In her role, Cllr Williams will also investigate what is happening in regards to environmental issues in the county and local community and report back to future meetings.
She will also represent Launceston Town Council for The Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean 2019.
