RESIDENTS have appealed to Torridge District Council to be "more aware of what is happening in the countryside" after a temporary access track was formed before the planning application went before Torridge District Council Planning Committee.

The council approved the erection of a 77 metre wind turbine on Ratherton Farm, Holsworthy, in February. But at the beginning of the month began processing a separate application to form a one way temporary agricultural access on the A388, around two miles before Holsworthy, for the construction phase of the permitted wind turbine.

Devon County Highways recommended refusal on the application due to the entrance positioning being "unsafe" on a bend and the brow of a hill. It also stated there was no way to enforce the one way system.
