A LETTER is to be sent to allotment holders in Camelford, after a recent inspection found a number of sites were neglected.

Cllr Emma Grigg told town councillors at the June 19 meeting that she and Cllr Andy Shaw had visited the allotment site, at Valley Truckle.

“It’s quite a mess in places,” she said. “The entrance is horrendous.”

Cllr Grigg said the council would need a skip and a few days to clear the area.

“There’s no point in nagging people about the state of their plots if the entrance is a state.”

They also rated each plot and found ‘some good, some bad and some in between,’ and Cllr Grigg asked for the clerk to send letters to plot holders.

“Some of them are just totally neglected. It’s a shame for the others.”
