CAMELFORD Town Council has approved a £1,000 grant for CHAT — the Camelford History and Archive Trust.
Councillors considered the grant request at the meeting on Tuesday, November 21.
CHAT applied for the funds towards the development of its website.
In the application, Diane Taylor, group secretary, said: “We hold a treasure trove of artefacts which we want to make available to the community. The site will enable users to find and print photos, see what artefacts we have for loan, contact us, have access to link sites, and send us new acquisitions.”
Cllr Andy Shaw said: “I think it’s worthwhile.”
All councillors voted in favour of the grant request.
Cllr Michael Coombes was elected as the council’s representative for CHAT. The position was previously held by Philip Lessels, who passed away this year.
