LETTERS are being sent to people in the Torridge area to inform them they could be entitled to up to £7,000 in grant funding to help keep their homes warm.
Along with two other district councils, Torridge has teamed up with Cosy Devon and EON to provide new ‘Pioneer Places’ grants to homeowners and private-rented householders – as well as people living in park homes, with solid walls.
The funding may be used to go towards payment for solid wall insulation.
Letters being sent out will highlight how households can register for a free assessment to determine whether they are eligible for funding.
If residents in the Torridge area haven’t received a letter and they believe they have solid walls and should be entitled to grant funding they are being encouraged to find out more.
The Department of Energy and Climate Change, with North Devon Council leading the project in the county, are making the grant money available.
Grants can only be awarded on a first come first serve basis and the deadline for registration of interest is on February 26.
To book a free assessment call 0800 508 8353 from Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm, and Saturday, 8am to 4pm.
