SCARECROWS, samba, royalty, wreckers, and a host of vibrant floats filled St Breward over the weekend. The village carnival was held under 'brilliant blue skies'. Well-supported events and competitions were put on before the day, including 23 muppet scarecrows and an evening with Johnny Cowling. Carnival entrants, which included the North Cornwall Hunt, vintage cars and truck, tractors, classic car, royalty, Cornish Wreckers, Los Samba and many individual walkers and floats, gathered at 6pm at Rylands for the procession through the village to the St Breward Football Club — followed by carnival supporters. St Breward Silver Band and Mr Showers also provided entertainment outside St Breward Stores. As the procession finished everyone gathered at St Breward Football Club for further entertainment from Vincent's Family Organ, Los Samba and the Cornish Wreckers before the presentation of cups and prizes, winners of the grand raffle, squares board and scarecrow competition.
