'Thanks for the memories' - that's the message from the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre team following the great success of the display of photographs of the town's well remembered Coronation School.

Since the display was set up a few weeks ago there's been a steady flow of visitors, from locally and further afield, to look at the photographs and leaf through albums compiled by former teachers.

Many of the visitors have been able to spot themselves or friends and recall memories of their school days at the 'Cora'.

The Sunderland Trust, which runs the Heritage Centre, has several photo albums which have been donated for the archive by former members of the Coronation teaching staff, Dai Williams and the late Aubrey Phillips. These are in the process of being digitalised and others are added as they are brought in. Much of this work is being carried out by former pupil Ken Edwards, one of the archive's volunteer team.

Glynnis Iles, of the Sunderland Trust, said: "This is a unique and extensive collection, and reflects great pride in a school which is so well remembered. The display has received a great response from visitors."
