MEMBERS of Camelford Town Council discussed the current situation regarding double yellow lines and parking in Dark Lane at their meeting on September 20.

Although there are double yellow lines along part of Dark Lane, some residents and parents dropping their children off at the primary school are still parking there, causing a traffic obstruction.

Councillors were told that the traffic enforcement officer is not issuing parking tickets until the matter has been resolved with residents.

Some residents have said they have facilities to park, but according to the council, this is only in the allocated bays.

Until this is resolved, the double yellow lines are ineffective.

Cllr Brian Lush said: "I think it's a pretty poor carry on from Cornwall Council. They want to get their act together and sort something out a bit quick."

He feared that a child could get knocked down on a dark, wet morning.
