AROUND 100 people took part in a charity quiz night in Camelford on Saturday, March 19, raising over £400 for Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

The event was organised at Camelford Bowling Club after club member and local farmer Geoffrey Risdon survived a serious accident last November.

Mr Risdon fell 15 feet onto the concrete floor of the dairy parlour during milking time on his farm, fracturing his skull, breaking a bone at the top of his neck and suffering serious cuts.

His son called 999, and because of the severity of his injuries it was decided it would be safer and quicker to transport Geoffrey to hospital by air ambulance.

Geoffrey was in hospital for over four weeks, and is still recovering steadily, even getting back to bowling with his friends in Camelford.
