A MOBILE phone shop in Launceston was transformed for a charity event on Saturday week to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association — with a terrific result.

Hayley Luxton and Marie Walker — her best friend since childhood — decided to host the event for the charity as Marie's father died from the disease two years ago.

The charity cake sale and raffle was held at the Go Mobile store in Launceston, where Hayley works.

She and Marie spent hours contacting local businesses in and around the town and in Holsworthy to arrange raffle prizes and for people to make cakes to sell on the day.
