A BOOK filled with mouth-watering recipes is set to raise hundreds of pounds for the Riding for the Disabled Duchy Group (RDA).

Contributors to the book, entitled ‘The Feed Bowl’, include the Springer Spaniel in Treburley and The Cornish Arms in Tavistock.

From pan roasted partridge to ham hock scotch eggs and chocolate cake with apple and cinnamon to southern sugared pecans, The Feed Bowl offers a sumptuous range of easy to prepare dishes from some renowned Westcountry pubs.

All of the proceeds from the sale of the book will go directly to the work of the charity whose work is renowned countrywide.

The story of RDA is one of hope and inspiration, of people helping people and of ponies working their quiet magic in the lives of those with disabilities.

The RDA Duchy Group was established at Duchy College, based in Stoke Climsland, in 1989. Volunteers provide weekly riding and therapy for a maximum of 18 children and adults over three sessions.

A spokesperson for the group said: “Volunteer, Ruth Herd, came up with the idea as she thought it would be a fun way to help with fundraising.

“RDA lessons are hugely beneficial for our students who really look forward to their weekly ride. Not only do they learn a new skill under the supervision of experienced instructors, but their confidence is boosted immeasurably.”

In addition to recipes, the book also includes photos of the RDA Duchy Group at work and quotes from riders, parents and volunteers.

It can be purchased via the group’s website www.rdaduchy.org or on the Facebook page RDA Duchy Group.
