A SURGICAL kit used in a former Nazi concentration camp which was removed from a Bude auction at the weekend, is expected to be re-homed in a museum.
The controversial item had sparked concerns from a number of groups, including people who had lost family members during the war.
The kit, disguised as a musical instrument case to fit the remit and positive image used to publicise the concentration camp of Theresienstadt, was produced for Nazi Commandant Anton Burger.
On the orders of Eichmann, Anton Burger was in command of the camp from July 1943 to February 1944 and was ordered to change the appearance of the camp to fool the Red Cross into believing that this venue was that of a positive nature, rather than the all too horrific truth. The changes made were purely cosmetic, nothing functioned in any capacity beyond the superficial.
