THE fifth of the current series of craft fayres at St Swithin's Church, Launcells, was off to a flying start on Monday, September 12.

The church was full to capacity, with 48 stalls offering the usual wide range of products, even tempting visitors to look ahead towards Christmas for gifts for family and friends.

This year the proceeds will go towards the church tower fund, as it is anticipated that some £60,000 will be required to refurbish it within the next five years; with grants becoming more and more difficult to obtain a higher proportion of the funding has to be self generated.
