THE Post Office is proposing to move Holsworthy Post Office from its current location to create a modern open-plan main-style branch with extended opening hours.

The proposed new location for the branch is Westcountry Cleaning Services, 13 The Square, Holsworthy. This is 160 metres from its current site at 5 Fore Street.

As part of Post Office plans to modernise the network and extend the service hours for customers, the new Holsworthy Post Office would have open-plan serving positions and one modern screened position.

Should the move go ahead, the branch would open Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 5.30pm. This would include opening half an hour earlier, plus and extra four and a half hours of Post Office service every Saturday afternoon.

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a six-week public consultation.
