Alison Eden, Liberal Democrat Candidate for Teignmouth Central District Council of Higher Brimley Road Teignmouth TQ14 8JU writes:
Our former Conservative local MP Mrs Morris is suddenly expressing concern at the proposed loss of beds and closure of the Minor Injury Unit at Teignmouth Hospital.
The proposed cuts in service are a direct result of the Conservative reorganisation of the NHS. Mrs Morris voted for these changes and cuts.
I am not aware of seeing or hearing Mrs Morris taking part in any of the public consultations on these issues. It's a matter of days before the general election and she has made a fundamental change to what she believes in.
It's hard not to think these two facts aren't related. It's also really depressing. Lots of people are telling me on the doorstep that they are fed up with politicians who'll do anything to win votes including sacrifice their principles.
Come on candidates - start saying what you believe in not what you think will elect you!
