THE congregation of St Breward Church is now sitting comfortably, thanks to new cushions that have recently been made for the pews.
After many years of mismatched ones, the church now has made-to-measure cushions in a dark blue colour to match the recently installed blue stained glass in the Lady Chapel and the blue coloured prayer benches also in the Lady Chapel.
The cushions, specially made by Kate Cornish, a young upholsterer from Bodmin, were paid for by the Friends of St Breward Church, an organisation to which many parishioners belong and which raises money for the upkeep of the church.
They have also recently paid for repairs to the heating system when a radiator fell off the wall just before a funeral service.
To become a ‘friend’ or make a donation towards the cost of the cushions, please contact the secretary, Catherine McShee, on 01208 850 435.
The Friends of St Breward Church are organising a concert with the Allen Valley Singers in the church on Saturday, May 20 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 and can be bought at the door.
All monies raised will go towards the fabric of the church and to help pay for emergencies, such as the recent plumbing disaster.
Come along for a wonderful evening of music, promising everyone a ‘comfortable’ seat.
