RESIDENTS from across the 'Post' area did us all proud following their exertions at Sunday's London Marathon. A number of people took part in the 26.2 mile challenge in some uncomfortable temperatures, competing strongly and achieving some impressive times — all the while raising significant funds for some very needy causes. Well over half a million people have completed the marathon since its inception in 1981, with runners coming from across the globe to take part in the now world-famous event. There were over 36,000 entrants for this year's race, and congratulations must go to our region's runners — well done all.
For a round up from the entrants, see this week's edition of the 'Post'.
