CONCERNS have been raised regarding a tree at Tregoodwell in Camelford.
The tree was brought to the attention of Camelford town councillors at their meeting on Thursday, December 5 by a resident who was concerned that the tree was encroaching on residents’ gardens in the Tregoodwell area.
The chestnut tree is more than one-hundred years old.
Town clerk Esther Greig said that the tree is located on common land and that there are ‘different regulations to who does what’.
Deputy mayor Rob Rotchell said: “Can we refer this to the tree people at Cornwall Council to find out who owns it and how to deal with it?”
Mayor Claire Hewlett added: “It might just need pruning back or shaping up.”
Councillors agreed to refer the matter to Cornwall Council for further advice.
