HOLSWORTHY Mayor, Cllr Richard Brown has voiced his concern over the lack of councillors who have put themselves forward to stand on the town council.
Cllr Brown told the 'Post': "I would like to have seen people having to fight for their positions, but the seven who did stand can't be faulted. There is a perception that the town council can't do anything, but I behove those people to take an interest.
"During the last council there has been some very vocal comments from members of the public who haven't stood on the council."
Only seven candidates have come forward to fill the twelve vacancies on Holsworthy Town Council for this year's May elections and so they will have all been elected uncontested.
