ST GILES’ community lunch was held in the beautifully decorated Coronation Hall on Wednesday, December 16, when 41 members sat down to a three-course Christmas meal — mulled wine was also served at the beginning.

The lunch was prepared and cooked by Wendy Bendell, assisted by Ingrid Palmer.

Shelley Vanstone from Tesco, who kindly donated the dessert, also helped to prepare and serve the lunch.

The meal was served by members of the lunch club, crackers were pulled and sweets and mint biscuits were put on the tables.

The event was held in a truly festive spirit. A vote of thanks was given to all who worked to make the event a success by Ken Hamlyn, chairman.
