In true St Teath spirit the carnival week began on July 17 with events throughout building up to the Grand Carnival on July 23.

During the week a Sunday Funday was held along with a BBQ and magic show. Monday saw the bingo with one for the children in the afternoon. The adults bingo was then held in the evening along with a complimentary glass of sherry to raise a toast to the much loved Syliva Mewton, sadly no longer with us, who gave so much support to the village events.

Tuesday saw a Supper Club evening with a pie special night. Wednesday was the Big Fat Carnival Quiz and Thursday boasted an end of term disco for the children with live music provided by ‘Blue Orion’.

Friday offered a fun night, with the three legged race taking place around the village of St Teath with live music from ‘Duskies’.

With Saturday being Carnival Day, the evening was perfect with St Teath’s own ‘Queen of the village’ Pearl Pluess along with her attendant Marion Sinclair leading the grand procession on a horse drawn carriage — what a spectacular site to see .

After the procession it was back to the carnival tent on the village green for the results and the evening rounded off with live music from ‘Tank Slapper’.

The carnival committee members commented that it has been another very successful week all round with much support and evidence of the community spirit that the village of St Teath is known for.

Many are looking forward to next year’s carnival when the committee will be changing the week it is held. It will now be back on the last Satuday of July with the carnival week starting on Sunday, July 23.
