THE Rotary Community Shop was recently approached with a joint request from the Launceston Choral Society and the Launceston Male Voice Choir.

The piano in the Central Methodist Hall used by both musical organisations is, to quote their application ‘no longer fit for purpose’, and needs to be replaced. They wish to purchase a good quality digital piano for use in rehearsals.

The Launceston Male Voice Choir sings at about 20 concerts a year raising monies for various charities and the Launceston Choral Society normally puts on four concerts a year, also helping other charities. It was agreed to give each organisation £500 making a donation of £1,000 in total.
