The community projects that have received grants have specifically focused on children and young people, elderly people and carers, with an emphasis on young carers.
Projects awarded grants in June have included the 1st Bugle Scout Group, 1st Par, St Blazey and Fowey Scout Group, 1225 Squadron Air Training Corps, CHAOS Cornwall CIC, BF Adventure, Kernow Live CIC, Mylor Sailability and Play It Again Theatre Company.
The £1,000 that was awarded to Kernow Live will allow free entry to ‘Play-fest’ for 200 disadvantaged families and disabled children.
CHAOS Cornwall CIC received £540, which will go towards running a Saturday morning club for children with complex health needs.
Mark Mitchell, chairman of Cornwall Glass, said: “As we enter our sixth year of granting to so many marvellous, deserving groups and causes within our county, it is most humbling to see what a significant difference a modest grant amount can make to so many projects, benefitting our diverse community.
“I must extend my grateful thanks to my five colleagues who so diligently sit on our grants panel each year and deliberate with much thought and compassion, giving their careful consideration to the increasing number of applications we receive”
So far the Cornwall Glass Fund has invested a total of over £50,000 in community groups across Cornwall.
