LAUNCESTON Community Market has contributed £200 to the local branch of the Cats Protection. All the funds raised by the market go to local charities and this contribution takes the total to well over £9,000 in under six years.

The Cats Protection branch is very active, rehoming in excess of 200 cats/kittens each year. The majority are looked after by the welfare officer/co-ordinator in pens in her garden. One or two other helpers also foster. The money will go towards feeding and caring for the many cats and kittens in the Launceston centre.

The community market, in Central Methodist Hall is open every Friday from 9.30am to 1pm offering a wide range of crafts and a new selection of local (organic) meat and veg.
