PUPILS and staff at St Tudy Pre-School were delighted to have scooped the top prize in Cedar Croft Nurseries’ community awards.

Over the Christmas season Cedar Croft customers were able to choose from four great causes who would win a cash prize from ‘Chief Elf’ Mark Orchard.

Customers placed their Cedar Croft timber token in the box of the good cause they would most like to support. The more tokens a cause received, the bigger the donation they would get from a prize fund of £500 donated by Mark.

He said: “In the past we have provided trees and vouchers to a number of good causes both large and small. This year I wanted our customers to take part and get involved.

“I am really pleased to be able to help our community in this way. Our community matters so much to us and this is our way to help these great causes.”

A big fanfare means that St Tudy Pre-School has scooped the top prize of £250. Other awards were made to the Pirate Trust, St Tudy Youth Football Club and St Mabyn Shop.
